Day 5 of a Combo Keto Diet/ Juicing

So I switched things up a little and am doing something called Keto Dieting. I read up on it and have seen results from my cousin. It sounds really bad because it tells you to load up on fats and cut carbs, so we'll see if it works for me. Read up on Keto dieting for more info. I don't go all out on the fats, but they do suggest sticking to dark meats like beef, dark chicken, etc as they contain more fats. Instead of your body burning carbs for energy it will be burning fat. Fat burning fat, who woulda known! lol. Also, I just started juicing today and I will be doing the Mean Green Juice as stated in my first post on Juicing back in 2011 :) . Drinking it brought back beautiful happy memories of the journey that got me to lose 40 lbs. And I feel very motivated. I do as much walking as I can during the day at work, drink plenty of water. For breakfast I'll have a couple hard boiled eggs, maybe throw in a protein shake. Lunch is a salad with eggs, tuna, olive oil and vinegar and maybe some dark meat if available. I'll have a second salad a couple hours later. For dinner, if there is no dark meat available then I will just juice. I will try and just juice, no solids every other evening after my workout. I also take 2000 mg of Vitamin C and a Multi Vitamin, as the Vitamin C will absorb all the nutrients from the juice and Multi Vitamin. So far I feel pretty good. I was very active at work but got tired towards the end of the day. I was able to rest for a little when I got home and then took my dog out for a walk. I did do my own leg workout today but followed the areas to work on from the workout list. I was really wiped out today to go to gym and it is important not to push ourselves if we are tired, we must listen to our bodies. If it needs rest, give it rest. It will tell you when it is ready.

Check out this picture I took at work today of some Turkeys runnin around. Looks like Turkey season starts next Saturday, the other dark meat..lol

I'm Back! And I'm Fat again lol

Yesterday I made the for sure decision to get back on track. No more excuses. I noticed I've been waking up with back pain, and also this year has been pretty rough with family getting sick and losing family members, keeping up with my home that I've owned now for over 2 years (a great accomplishment for me), and working full time nonstop.  I really fell off my routine, baad. It's been 3 years since I've written a blog on here! And I totally forgot about this. Funny how I came across my old blog. I am in the process of creating my own website to share photos I've taken with my Iphone 6 and this came up as one of the better websites. I clicked on it and then my old blogs popped up! I just thought it was such a quincidence. I read all my old blogs on juicing and how it changed my life and how I went from 198 lbs to 152 lbs! Wow! I don't know why exactly I went from being soo happy and being on track to, moving the opposite direction. I think apart of it has to do with me getting comfortable with my new look and weight that I thought it would be ok to cheat here and there and that little bit of cheating turned into a fast moving train back to where I was. Luckily, I haven't gained it all back! I'm currently at 177 lbs give or take a few. So to get back to where I was should only take half the time , 3 months. If I focus and keep myself motivated and stay positive. I noticed that making entries each day on my journey kept things in perspective and kept me moving. I will continue that. We're only human, we fall in and out of balance. It's normal right? I do miss running and feeling light and free. When I read my blogs about how I would run up 6 flights of stairs at work and feel free, it brought me back to that feeling. What I've learned over the years of being overweight, losing it and gaining it back is that nobody can help us stay on track. We make our own choices everyday and we choose to be fit or to be fat. Health or not healthy. Do I want that beer or do I want water instead? Do I want to look good in clothes and feel good or do I want to wear the same old fat jeans I've warn for three years? It's all about choices. Being healthy is number one, staying fit and living a long, happy life.  It's time for me to shed this old skin and bring out a new me again! I'm soo motivated and ready for this new journey.

Update

So I was just reading my old blog entries and I noticed that wow I was kind of jumping all over, and vanished.I just apologize to the handful of my blog followers of my lack of keeping up with the blogs. But here is an update. I am still eating healthy, mainly vegetarian, I have not done juicing since my 26 or so days. But, I can definately say that the juice, motivation, and working out have all played a roll in my losing weight and keep it off. I went from 198lbs in May to 152 lbs today. Soo very proud, I can't explain how great I feel! Currently my meals consist of beans, and tortillas, oatmeal, and vegetables. I've decided to eat meat, but only if I can catch it myself. I used to walk up 6 flights of stairs at work, huff and puff and nearly pass out. 6 months later today, I fly up the stairs with nothing more then a few deep breaths. Its such a feeling, to be able to enjoy being outside. And loving it. I definately recommend, cutting out  fast foods, and processed foods and lean more towards vegetables, legumes, beans, and lean fresh organic meats.  Other advice is to go outside and have some fun and explore ur local trails and forests, if ur not into being outside, that's a bummer..ur missing out. Anyway ill add more eventually. Health brings happiness, the thought of living long and having that youthful energy for many years is amazing!  It has been and still is a big journey, but now I can look back and smile, and grin at what's to come ahead.Cheers!

Kitchiri

Hello everyone! It has been quite a while since my last juicing entry and although I have taken a break from my juice fast I have taken up something different. A Kitchiri fast. It was referred to me by a good friend and I am on my 3rd day of eating Kitchiri. If you google it, you will find it is a dish made in India, consisting of Ayurvedic properties that help to cleanse and detoxify the digestive system and throughout the body. I am adding this entry as I hover comfortably on my porcelain throne. Haha. Anyhow, I have lost a couple of lbs, down to 161 since my last weigh in of 163. I've been fairly active, went on a 14 mile hike up to Yosemite, and really tested myself in mind and body. It was a really powerful experience for me, as I feel so much more inclined to step outside boundaries I was scared to tred in my past, due to my weight and low esteem. Quite a lot has changed, and I am thankful. I will try to post more blogs in the coming days to share my Kitchri Journey and others. Have a great evening!

Day 26 -Lost track of the days but transitioning slowly to solids!

Chapathi And Parippu / Dal Curry | Simple and Delicious !

Soo I thought I was going to do 60 days of juicing. But I had the urge to eat some indian food, and I did. At this point, I'm feeling great. I lost about 15 lbs and, I'm still working out and drinking juice for breakfast and lunch. Come dinner time, the other night I had small servings of Dal and Chapathis, and I like it soo much, I am going to be juicing all day, but have Dal and Chapathis for dinner. The good thing about Dal is that its packed with proteins and nutrients, its completely dairy and meat free. And Chapathis are very thin and delicious.
